Full analytics dashboard
Traffic-engineering metrics out of the box: 85th percentile, pace speed, compliance rate, speed heatmaps, and more.
Traffic intelligence · iOS 26
Point your iPhone at a street and turn it into a precision measurement instrument. On-device Core ML, Apple Neural Engine, and a 13-chart analytics dashboard — no footage ever leaves your phone.
Free to try · Requires iOS 26 · iPhone 12 or newer
How it works
No tripod required. No camera rigging. Just point, calibrate once, and let SpeedCam AI do the rest.
Mount your iPhone on a window, dashboard, or tripod. Any angle works. Draw a region of interest around the lane you care about.
Calibration runs in the background as traffic passes. Or drop a 2-point reference line of known length for faster ground-truth accuracy.
Live speed readings, automatic incident capture, and a traffic-engineering dashboard — ready to export as PDF, CSV, JSON, or TMAS.
Features
Every feature earns its place. Nothing ornamental, nothing theoretical.
Traffic-engineering metrics out of the box: 85th percentile, pace speed, compliance rate, speed heatmaps, and more.
No tripod. The app learns your camera angle from passing traffic. Or drop a 2-point reference line for instant accuracy.
On-device AI chat. "Fastest vehicle this week?" "Plot traffic by hour." Apple Intelligence answers locally, zero cloud round-trips.
Two independent methods cross-check every reading. Outliers are filtered automatically. Readings stay smooth as traffic changes.
Draw a polygon around the lane you care about. Everything outside is ignored — crisper counts, faster inference.
PDF reports, JSON, CSV, and industry-standard TMAS volume/speed files. Share via AirDrop, email, or Files.
Drop in a video from any camera — Nest, Ring, Wyze, Arlo, GoPro, your iPhone — and SpeedCam AI runs the same detection. Every vehicle ≥5 mph gets recorded as a speed survey.
Stream directly from Reolink, Amcrest, Tapo, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, or Ubiquiti — any RTSP-capable camera. Video decoding runs on your iPhone with no cloud round-trips.
Who uses it
Citizen-science traffic data — collected responsibly, shared openly.
Quantify speeding in your neighborhood with time-of-day, day-of-week, and 85th-percentile data. Present to council with exportable PDFs.
For residentsStart a speed watch with your phone. Record incidents automatically and tag them by campaign — "School Zone," "Oak St," "Hwy 101 Onramp."
For engineers + plannersRun a volume and speed survey on any video. TMAS exports plug directly into industry tooling. Headway histograms, safety events, pedestrian counts.
For reportersGather reproducible, privacy-preserving traffic evidence with on-device provenance. No surveillance footage to manage, no cloud chain-of-custody.
FAQ
No. Every frame is processed on-device using Core ML on the Apple Neural Engine. Video, images, and bounding boxes never leave your phone. Firebase receives aggregate usage counts only.
iPhone 12 or newer running iOS 26. Object detection runs on the Apple Neural Engine, and some advanced analytics views require iOS 26.
Two independent estimators (closed-form velocity and homography projection) must agree within 20% before a reading is shown. A 30-frame rolling median filters outliers. After a short calibration period, accuracy is typically within ±2 mph at 25–35 mph on a well-mounted phone.
No. Any stable mount works — a window, a dashboard, a tripod. A vanishing-point calibrator learns your camera angle from passing traffic. For faster accuracy, drop a 2-point reference line on any road feature of known length (e.g., a crosswalk stripe).
PDF reports, JSON, CSV, and industry-standard TMAS volume/speed files. Exports can be filtered by campaign tag, session, or confidence level.
Yes. Tap the Tool Palette and select the video import icon. Choose any video from your library — footage from a Nest, Ring, Wyze, Arlo, GoPro, or your iPhone all work. SpeedCam AI runs the same on-device detection and records every vehicle ≥5 mph as a speed survey.
Yes. SpeedCam AI connects directly to Reolink, Amcrest, Tapo, Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Ubiquiti, and any other RTSP-capable camera. ONVIF auto-discovery finds cameras on your local network automatically. Video decoding runs on your iPhone — no cloud round-trips.
Yes. You can run live detection and analytics on a demo dataset for free. Paid tiers unlock incident capture on your own data, full exports, and the RTSP add-on for IP camera streaming.
